On Monday, Nov. 5, a caravan of pick-ups with open trailers loaded with racks of clothes headed to the new home of the Chester-Andover Family Center, thanks to Les Hale and John Hennessey.

The center’s volunteer angels were out in full force getting the job done and the CAFC Board would like to give a special thanks to everyone who has helped with the huge project of painting, drip line gravel (thanks, Red Johnson), bathroom flooring (thanks, Knockout Carpet Inc.), etc., in getting the building ready, then coming back to help with the move. These are more examples of the community responding when someone needs help.

The center’s new building has taken on a phenomenal transformation from dark and dreary to big, bright and beautiful. Please follow our progress on Facebook and watch for our Open sign to come in and shop. Watch also for the date of our grand opening event.

On Nov. 1, the Food Shelf began operation at the new building. Recipients now can make their own food choices. They are very pleased with their new digs.

A big thank you to everyone who helped with the center’s Bake Sale on Election Day by providing items for the sale, assisting with the sale and general support. The sale raised more than $600. Another big thank you to the community for so generously purchasing items and making our sale a great success. Thanks also to everyone who brought in donations for the Food Shelf.

You can visit the center at 908 VT Route 103 South (P.O. Box 302), Chester, VT 05143, call at 802-875-3236, email: cafc302@gmail.com, and visit the website at http://www.chester-andoverfamilycenter.weebly.com.
