Misty Valley’s New Voices draws 200

Two hundred people attended Misty Valley Books’ 19th Annual New Voices 2013 authors event at the First Universalist Parish in the Stone Village on Saturday, Jan. 26.

Misty Valley Books co-owner Bill Reed said the discussions during and after the event were lively and the comments following the event he called “glowing.”

Bruce Johnson of SAPA-TV videotaped the event. It will air twice this weekend: 8 p.m. Saturday and 7 p.m. Sunday. DVDs of the event are available for $15 each, plus a $2 mailing fee. Orders can be made at SAPATV.org, click on the Services tab.

Following the speakers — debut authors Dr. Eben Alexander, whose work Proof of Heaven is the current No. 1 bestseller; Carole DeSanti, vice president of Penguin Books and author of The Unruly Passions of Eugénie R.; Kieren Shields, author of The Truth of All Things, Jessica Maria Tuccelli, author of Glow, and Maryanne O’Hara, author of Cascade – everyone gathered downstairs for the reception and book-signing.
