GMUHS students present past at History Symposium

Green Mountain Union High School held its History Symposium on Wednesday, March 13. Dozens of students exhibited panels, slideshows, interact displays and documentaries that they produced as an adjunct to their classroom history studies. The students made presentations and answered questions from visitors. Topics ranged from indentured servitude to Elvis Presley.

Hanley Murray narrates her presentation on the Stonewall riots of 1969. The demonstrations in New York City were important in the struggle for gay rights.

Teacher Keith Hill seems the anachronism surrounded by Sebastian Loyzelle, Michael Randzio and Emily Ditzler.

In addition to creating a documentary on a French Revolution era scandal, Leah Cunningham dressed as Marie Antoinette.

Displays on everything from Freud to B-29 bombers were displayed in classrooms, hallways and the library at Green Mountain for the 2013 History Symposium.

Margie DesLauriers explains aspects of a World War One nurse’s life and work to an interested visitor.

Brian Hennell created a World War I biplane model to use as a display board for his study of tanks and airplanes as weapons in a new kind of war.
