Cavendish Energy Committee raffles home energy audit

The Cavendish Energy Committee is sponsoring a raffle to give away a free home energy audit — a $500 value — to a Cavendish homeowner.
In March 2012, the Energy Committee urged Cavendish voters to create a Property Assessed Clean Energy district for Cavendish. The voters approved the district and now Cavendish homeowners are eligible to borrow funds through the town to make energy efficiency improvements to their homes. Loans can be repaid out of the energy savings realized by the improvements.

The PACE loans will be processed through Efficiency Vermont, the state’s Energy Efficiency Utility. Information on the application process and on what home improvements qualify for the program is available at the town offices, at Singleton’s Market and at Crow’s Bakery in Proctorsville. A Cavendish homeowner who picks up a packet of information can submit his or her name to be entered into a drawing for the free home energy audit. Will Reed of Vermont Foam Insulation Co. of Chester, Efficiency Vermont’s No. 1 Home Performance with Energy Star Contractor for 2012, will conduct the audit.
Additional information on PACE can be found at: http://www.efficiencyvermont.com/for_my_home/financing_options/financing/general_info.aspx
