Halloween costumes, housewares, cold weather clothes at Family Center

Make Chester-Andover Family Center, at 908 VT Route 103 S in Chester, your go-to place for Halloween costumes and home decorating items. The Thrift Shop has an amazing assortment of costumes, from children’s sizes to adults.Halloween

Also in the Thrift Shop recently, fall and winter merchandise is now available. The shop has a huge assortment of large clothing sizes for both men and women as well. If you would like to be invited to participate in the monthly Surprise Bag Sales at the Shop, just drop by and provide your email address. Priced items will be half price and take home a filled bag with unpriced items for $1.

The Food Shelf continues to welcome food and cash donations as the number of recipients served continues to increase weekly. For Food Shelf recipients, every Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. is “Fresh Friday,” when you can pick up fresh fruits and veggies.

If you received a $50 credit from HB Fuels for heating fuel and do not plan to use it, please consider transferring the credit to the Center to assist those who have difficulty in paying their heating bills. Requests for assistance are expected to increase due to the poor economy.

Thrift Shop hours are: Tuesday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Wednesday, 1 to 7 p.m., Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 2. p.m. Food Shelf hours are 1 to 6 p.m. every Thursday.
