In anticipation of the statewide musical composition program sponsored by Music-COMP, five Ludlow Elementary School Students along with a teacher from Mt Holly Elementary School, are preparing their own original musical compositions in the hope that they may be selected  for the OPUS28 concert in the Ludlow Town Hall Auditorium. The program will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 30.

The students, with the help of music teacher Constance Wilcox and using online composition programs, are busy creating compositions that will be submitted to Music-COMP.  Statewide, more than 80 students are doing the same.  Ultimately, about 24 of these compositions will be selected for the April 30 concert in Ludlow.

The compositions will be played by professional classical musicians who are also members of the Vermont Symphony Orchestra.  In 2012, Ludlow also hosted the OPUS 24 concert in the town hall auditorium.  Friends of Ludlow Auditorium will assist Music-COMP in arrangements for the concert.  Selected compositions will be played at the concert.  To fund this large project, Music-COMP has launched a Kickstarter effort to raise fund to underwrite the cost of this concert and its preparation.  The Kickstarter website for contributions is http://kck.st/1kvP894.
