Whiting Library offering passes to historic sites

The Whiting Library is once again offering free or discounted passes to Vermont historical sites, Vermont day parks and regional museums. This includes eight Vermont state historical sites:

  • Bennington Battle Monument,
  • Chimney Point in Addison,
  • Hubbardton Battlefield,
  • Justin Morrill Homestead in Strafford,
  • Mount Independence in Orwell,
  • Old Constitution House in Windsor,
  • the home of President Calvin Coolidge in Plymouth and
  • the home of President Chester Arthur in Fairfield.

Enjoy family fun and fresh air at day-use sites in 35 Vermont state parks. Go to vtstateparks.com for all the parks info. The library parks pass admits up to eight people in one vehicle.

At Fort at No. 4 in Charlestown, N.H., experience life in the 1740s at this interactive outdoor museum. Gain an understanding of 18th century life in the Connecticut River Valley.

In historic Windsor, see machine tools and inventions that celebrate craftsmanship at the American Precision Museum. The library pass allows admission for two adults and two children, and a discount at the museum shop.

See Vermont’s history from 1600 to the present at the Vermont Historical Museum in Montpelier in the Pavilion Building near the State House. ECHO Lake Aquarium and Science Center pass provides $4 per person (up to four individuals) admission.
