UPDATE — 2016 Chester Winter Carnival schedule changes

UPDATED Thursday, Feb. 11, 2016
Due to the anticipated wind chill, the Winter Carnival Committee is postponing Saturday night’s events. These include the sculpture fire, bonfire and skate party at Cobleigh Field. The bonfire and skate party will now be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday Feb. 27.  The Broom Ball Tournament on Sunday, Feb. 14 will be postponed until 1 to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 27 at Cobleigh Rink.

The schedule for the 2016 Chester Winter Carnival has been announced.

Friday, Feb. 12

  • 5:30-8 p.m. Cupid and Kids Dinner and a movie for the kids  at Chester-Andover Elementary School, 72 Main St.

Saturday, Feb. 13

  • 8-10:30 Breakfast at the Chester American Legion, Route 103 South.

Canceled due to snow conditions:

  • Crosscountry ski11 a.m. Sled Races at the Pinnacle Recreation Area on Lovers Lane. Sleds provided.

Still on:

  • 11 a.m.: The CAES Parent-Teacher Group will offer food and beverages at the Pinnacle throughout the day.
  • 11 a.m. Open-sledding instead of Sled Races.
  • 11 a.m. Disc Golf with Gary King at the Pinnacle.
  • 11 a.m. Cross-Country Skiing at the Pinnacle with Ken Walker.
  • 11 am. to 4 p.m. Horse-drawn sleigh rides with Peter Hudkins at the Pinnacle.
  • 3-5 p.m. The Southern Pie Company will have offer pie tasting at $5 per plate with proceeds going to the Chester Recreation Department.
  • 7:30 to 11 p.m.: Shakin’ All Over Dance at the American Legion

Delayed until Feb. 27:

  • 5 p.m.  Wood Sculpture Fire with Barre Pinske at Cobleigh Field, Cobleigh Street off of Main.
  • iceskating clip6 to  8 p.m. Skate Party at Cobleigh Field.
  • 6 p.m.  Bonfire at Cobleigh Field.

 Sunday, Feb. 14

Delayed until Feb. 27:

  • 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Broom Hockey at Cobleigh Field. $25 per team (six person minimum) and teams must supply a referee for games they are not playing in.

Saturday, Feb. 27

  • 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Broom Hockey at Cobleigh Field. $25 per team (six person minimum) and teams must supply a referee for games they are not playing in.

6 to 8 p.m. at Cobleigh Field: 

  • Wood Sculpture Fire with Barre Pinske.
  • Skate Party at Cobleigh Field.
  • Bonfire at Cobleigh Field.
