The Springfield Community Players will hold auditions for all three productions of its 2016 season from 6 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, April 3 and Monday, April 4 at the Players Studio on 113 South St. in Springfield.

The Players 2016 season will includes a musical and two plays: The Aliens by Annie Baker in the spring,  Jake’s Women or  Proof depending on auditions in the summer and Godspell in the fall.

The Aliens tells the story of two angry men sitting behind a Vermont coffee shop discussing their band, The Aliens. When a high-school student arrives to work at the shop, they decide to teach him everything they know. The show runs May 27–28 and June 3–4 with rehearsals starting in April. The cast is two men around 30 and a high school age boy. For further information on The Aliens production, contact Scott Stearns at sestearns@msn.com.

David Auburn’s Proof, is a possible substitution for the Simon play. Cast needs are for two women (mid-20s and mid-30s) and two men (late-20s and late-60s). A young woman inherits her famous mathematician father’s talent. She must contend with the papers he left behind. Auditions for both Jake’s Women and Proof are on April 3–4 and on May 15–16.
