Weston Bunny Arrival

The Easter Bunny arrives in Weston

Saturday seemed a perfect day for Weston’s annual Easter Egg Hunt.

Families brought out more than 60 kids from Weston and the surrounding communities on a sunny mid-morning to play games, guess the number of jelly beans in a jar, get their faces painted and, of course, hunt for plastic eggs chockful of treats.

The Winhall Farm of Manchester — David Johnson and Lisa Cross — brought their big-eyed calf Olivia for petting.

And Cassidy Yrsha, Ashley Bolton and Cassie Mowrey, all Burr & Burton Academy students, did face-painting.

The Vermont Country Store provided extra treats, such as goody bags for the Easter hat contest participants, and a chocolate bunny for everyone.

This was the last year of organizing the event for Vickie Hart and Lisa Yrsha, who have been overseeing it for 13 years. Next year, the reins will be passed on to Bonnie Herrington, who got her feet wet during this year’s event.
