Nov. 11: Chamber music series continues
The Brattleboro Music Center’s 2016–17 Chamber Music Series continues with a performance by an eclectic ensemble of five musicians curated by BMC Music School faculty member Judith Serkin.Called Con Moto, the ensemble includes musicians well known to Brattleboro audiences. The concert is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 11 at 7:30 pm at the Centre Congregational Church at 193 Main St. in Brattleboro.
Tickets are available with preferred seating for $30 (guaranteed only with advance purchase), and general seating tickets for $20, with discounts available based on need.
The Chamber Music Series features artists and ensembles with international reputations, as well as gifted emerging young artists, performing chamber music.

Nov. 11–12: ‘Importance of Being Earnest’ at GMUHS
The Green Mountain Union High School’s drama club presents The Importance of Being Earnest in the GMUHS auditorium at 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 11 and 12.Tickets are $3 for students, $5 for adults. Tickets may be purchased at the door.
The Importance of Being Earnest is a light-hearted comedy with loveably ridiculous characters, a hilarious farce of Victorian Era high society.
The GMUHS students, faculty and staff worked together to produce this performance. Amy Jones and her class helped with the set design and artwork, Christa Valente and her class with the program, and Kristine LeFevre with costume creation and design.

Nov 13: Big Woods Voices in Chester
Big Woods Voices announces a concert at the First Universalist Parish of Chester at 211 North St. in the Stone Village at 3 p.m.

 on Sunday, Nov. 13. Big Woods Voices is the union of four veteran area singers celebrating their common passion for a cappella harmony. The Voices are (from soprano to bass): Amanda Witman, Becky Graber, Will Danforth, and Alan Blood and others.The results are lyrical settings of poetry by David Whyte, Mary Oliver, W. B. Yeats, and others; richly-harmonized standards of the American roots lexicon; and completely original compositions. Tickets are $12 ($10 senior/student) at the door, or in advance at Misty Valley Books, on the Green in Chester.
‘Rosencrantz & Guildenstern’ tours area theaters
Saxtons River’s Main Street Arts presents Tom Stoppard’s comic masterpiece Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead.
The play is a retelling of Shakespeare’s Hamlet from the perspectives of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern, ill-fated characters in the original drama who are Hamlet’s childhood friends.
The show will tour area theaters; performances are at 7:30 p.m.
