Nov. 25: Pods for Pulpit hosts juried crafts fair

Friday and Saturday, Nov. 25 and 26 mark the 22nd annual Pods for the Pulpit juried crafts fair, a fundraising event hosted by members and friends of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of the Upper Valley in Norwich.

The crafts fair is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Tracy Hall on 300 Main St. in Norwich with 50 vendors displaying a wide variety of crafts. There is no admission fee, but purchase of raffle tickets is encouraged.

This year, funds raised will be shared with WISE program center, the Family Place and Good Neighbor Clinic. Revenue comes from booth fees and a raffle.

This year’s raffle item is a colored woodblock print donated by Lyme, N.H., artist Matt Brown. Music will be provided by Chief Noda, guitarist, from Brockton, Mass. For more information, call 802-649-7040.

Nov. 30: Market insight talk at Rock Library

On Wednesday, Nov. 30 at 6 p.m., financial advisor Bill Stevens from Edward Jones and Jim Ignazio from MFS Investment Management offer a presentation on Market Insight and Perspective at 65 Westminster St. in Bellows Falls.

Learn how to keep up with trends impacting international and domestic markets. This event is free and open to the public. For more information, call 802-463-4270, go to www.rockinghamlibrary.org or stop by the library.

Dec. 1: Holiday food applications are due at BRGNS

black-river-good-neighbors-servicesThe Black River Good Neighbor Services is accepting applications for the 2016 Holiday food basket program. Completed applications must be submitted by Dec. 1.

Qualified individuals and families living in Ludlow, Proctorsville, Cavendish, Mount Holly, Belmont or Plymouth should stop by Black River Good Neighbor Food Shelf and Thrift Store at 37B Main St. in Ludlow to pick up an application or download the application at www.brgn.org. If you are unsure if you qualify, call 802-228-3663 to find out.

Dec. 1: Experience Kundalini, the Yoga of Awareness

On Thursday, Dec. 1 from 4 to 5 p.m. at the Meeting Place at Neighborhood Connections, 5700 Mountain Marketplace in Londonderry, Cindy Gogan PhD will demonstrate through practice how to utilize your will to balance mental, physical and nervous energies of the body.

Dec. 5: Application deadline for children’s Apple Blossom Cotillion

Elementary school children in grades kindergarten through 4th grade are invited to participate in the 61st annual Apple Blossom Cotillion, presented by Springfield Hospital and Springfield Medical Care Systems. The young performers are introduced in couples and they perform several singing and dancing numbers.

This year’s Cotillion is on Friday and Saturday, May 5 and 6. Children should apply in couples. Elementary school couples who submit a completed application by the due date of Dec. 5 are eligible to participate unless the number of applicants exceeds the capacity of the production. In that case, a random drawing will be held on Dec. 8 to determine the participants.

An orientation for all parents and participants is on Sunday, Jan. 8 at 1 p.m. at Riverside gymnasium, 13 Fairground Road in Springfield. Weekly rehearsals for elementary school participants start on Sunday, Feb. 26 from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.
