Gubernatorial Candidates Forum

This forum will feature candidates seeking their party’s nomination for governor of Vermont who are running in contested primaries. Five of the six candidates who fall into this category have accepted the invitation from the Friends of Ludlow Auditorium to participate in this forum.

They are Christine Halliquist, Brenda Siegal, James Ehlers and Ethan Sonneborn, all seeking the Democratic Party’s nomination, and Keith Stern, who is running in the Republican Party’s primary race. Stern’s opponent, incumbent Gov. Phil Scott, declined because the forum did not meet his campaign’s criteria.

Moderating the forum will be James Alic.

Given the current issues surrounding schools, property taxes, the exodus of young people from the state, and a variety of other matters facing Vermonters, this should be a most informative forum, a way to learn where the candidates stand on the issues.

Following questions to the panel by the moderator, questions will be accepted from audience members.
