Old Revolutionary Cemetery Tour

June 14, 2020 @ 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Cavendish Historical Society Museum
1958 Main St
Cavendish, VT 05142
In honor of Flag Day, the Cavendish Historical Society will conduct a tour of the Old Revolutionary Cemetery in Cavendish. We will meet at 2 pm in front of the Museum, 1958 Main St (Rt. 131) in Cavendish and car pool out to the cemetery. A short hike is required to reach the cemetery.
The Cemetery is the final resting place of many patriots, as well as one loyalist, the latter of whom had served in the French & Indian War. Cavendish Patriots were as young as 15 years of age and included women, as well as a former slave. Because of the proximity to the Crown Point Road, a number of soldiers who died along the way were buried here, as well as in the Coffeen Cemetery.
If time permits, a visit will be made to the Coffeen Cemetery.
