Springfield Warming Shelter Manager & Assistant Manager Openings

Part time warming shelter manager and assistant manager needed for the Springfield Warming Shelter in North Springfield, Vermont.   This is an 8 bed facility with separate sleeping areas for men and women that operates for 12 hours, overnight, from November 15th to April 15th each winter.  Two awake volunteers are needed at all times and the staff positions are responsible to support the recruiting, scheduling, and training of volunteers, opening and closing the shelter, on-call support to volunteers to handle any abnormal situations, misc. duties in support of shelter operations, and to fill in shifts when volunteers are not available.  Resume with Cover Letter should be submitted by September 10, 2017 to Springfield Warming Shelter, P O Box 243, North Springfield, VT 05150 or svtwsc@gmail.com 888-264-3001

Greater Northshire Access Television (GNAT–TV), the area’s local community TV station is seeking a camera operator to film town meetings and community events in and around Londonderry, Weston and Winhall. The Chester Telegraph — a five year old, professionally run online newspaper — is looking for local free-lance writers to help us cover Chester, Grafton, Weston, Londonderry and Andover as well as surrounding communities. This involves attending and writing about meetings and events and cannot be done from a distance. Reporting experience is preferred, but we will train a competent writer who can deliver a story on deadline. Payment is by the article.
