Dance Factory presents 41st annual Spring Recital May 10

Dance Factory’s 2024 Spring Recital

The Dance Factory presents its 41st annual Spring Recital on Saturday, May 10 at Springfield High School, 303 South St.

More than 120 students aged preschool through adult will perform original works of ballet, pointe, modern, jazz, hip hop and tap set to classic and contemporary music.

Because of the large number of performers, most of whom are cast in multiple pieces, the recital will be presented in separate shows at 2 and 6 p.m.; each will last for approximately 90 minutes. The youngest students will perform in the earlier show, elementary-aged students will dance in the later show and preteen through adult dancers will appear in both performances. A total of 30 unique works of dance will be presented.

The recital is an opportunity for students to demonstrate their growth and accomplishment throughout the last season of classes, as well as for studio faculty to flex their artistic muscles by creating engaging choreography: a trio of ballet pieces are set to James Bond theme songs, expressive indie rock provides the backdrop for modern dance and students will pop, swing and shuffle to Usher, Grease, and Dolly Parton.

Advance tickets are available at Tina’s Hallmark and Woodbury Florist in Springfield, Sage Jewelry and Gifts in Chester and online. Tickets will also be available at the door. Individual show tickets are $17 for adults and $10 for children; two-show tickets are $25 and $15, respectively.

The Dance Factory has been providing quality, inclusive dance training in a noncompetitive environment for more than 40 years. Click here for more information about the Spring Recital or send an e-mail.
