From the editor: A farewell to Stacia

After seven years with The Chester Telegraph, our super Events Editor Stacia Spaulding has decided to retire. She’s never said it was because we wore her out, although I have my concerns. She’s wisely focusing on her health.

We will miss her wry, dry and wicked humor and the skills she brought to juggling all of you folks who write press releases for your organizations, businesses and charitable events. Stacia was able to keep your press releases organized and the copy flowing smoothly, and she filled in the blanks when you forgot to include pertinent information. Her knowledge of our communities — she is a forever Proctorsville resident and her husband Jonathan Rice was a long-time teacher at Green Mountain High — was vital to her work.

There is only one thing harder than writing a short article. And that is editing a long press release down to three to-the-point inches of interesting copy. She has done it well.

For many of you, she also has been the face – by phone or by email – of The Chester Telegraph. Please join us in wishing her the fondest – and saddest — of farewells. She has been a singularly valuable part of The Telegraph.
