To the editor: Heartfelt thanks to all who supported Lindsey, family

Our family has so much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving. It seems like the perfect time to express our gratitude to all who have helped us along our journey. We have many people and organizations to thank for their support over the last nine months of Lindsey’s bone marrow operation and recovery.

Lindsey's bone marrow transplant seems to have been successful, says her mother Sue.

  • Bart Fuel for donating fuel for a raffle.
  • Springfield Police Department.
  • Endless Creations Pottery for the tile fundraiser (the tiles are beautiful!).
  • Awakenings Massage and all of the people who donated their time to do massages to raise money for gas cards for cancer patients annually.
  • Chester and Ludlow American Legions, Auxiliaries, Sons of the American Legion for their donations and support as well as the Legion family statewide.
  • Knockout Carpet (Tom Knockenhauer).

  • GMUHS Varsity basketball team and coaches (Brian Rappinotti, Matt McCarthy, Todd Parah).
  • GMUHS Booster Club and student government for their combined Wear Purple to support Lindsey fundraiser, and
  • To all of the individuals who took time to prepare food and take care of anything that was needed by Milt, Kyle, Sierra and Sam.

Thank you to everyone who made individual donations, sent cards, asked about Lindsey, sent gifts, made phone calls to see if Milt or the kids needed anything, and sent all the positive thoughts through CaringBridge.

We would also like to send out a very special thank you to Maddie Wilson, Meekah Hance, Rileigh and Jacob Thomas and their families for making the long trip to Boston and putting a smile on Lindsey’s face. You are truly very special people that will always be remembered as heroes.

Lindsey’s bone marrow transplant seems to have been successful this time around and she is doing great! She was able to return to school last week and is slowly transitioning into a “normal” life.

Once again, all of the love and support that this community has shown our family has been humbling and overwhelming. We cannot begin to tell you all how much your support has meant to us. Thank you does not come close to expressing our gratitude and appreciation for what you have done.

While the road has been long and sometimes rocky, your love and support saw us through the darkest moments and into the sunshine. We are truly blessed to live in such a supportive community and state.

Sue, Milt, Kyle, Sierra, Sam and Lindsey
