Chester Town School Board seeks two members for Act 46 school merger study committee

School moneyIn accordance with Act 46, the governance consolidation bill passed by the state legislature last spring, the Chester Town School Board has voted to review possible merger scenarios with the other school districts in Two Rivers Supervisory Union.

The Town of Chester will have five representatives on this committee based on the proportion of its pupils in the supervisory union.  Three members have been selected, including two school board members Alison DesLauriers and Marilyn Mahusky. Lauren Baker is the third member. It is also looking for two members of the community at large. It expects to have its first meeting at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28.

Those interested in serving on the study committee should contact Alison DesLauriers at alison.deslauriers@TRSU.org no later than Tuesday, Oct. 27. The time commitment for serving on this committee is at least one meeting per month for six to nine months.
