Chester Police arrest Connecticut man with 150 bags of heroin

Telegraph logoChester Police arrested a Hartford, Conn., man Sunday on heroin possession and trafficking charges.

Manuel Gomez, 26, was stopped by a Chester officer on Depot Street for a motor vehicle infraction at about 5:45 p.m. The officer found that Gomez’s license was criminally suspended in Vermont and a search of the vehicle and Gomez turned up 150 bags of heroin, worth between $2,000 and $3,000 on the street, police said.

Gomez was arrested and charged with possession of heroin, trafficking heroin and transportation of heroin in Vermont, in addition to the charge of driving with a suspended license.

He was processed and held at Southern State Correctional Facility in Springfield on $2,500 bail. On Monday, Jan. 25, Gomez was arraigned in the Criminal Division of the Windsor County Superior Court where his bail was raised to $25,000. Gomez continues to be held in Springfield.
