Caron becomes president of Chester Rotary

On Thursday, June 30, the Chester Rotary Club observed the Passing of the Gavel as Ed Caron was installed as its president.

On hand were club members and guest outgoing state Rep. Leigh Dakin.  Caron, a resident of Springfield, is a contract bookkeeper and tax preparer. Prior to becoming president, Caron served on the club’s board of directors.

Before turning the meeting over to Caron, outgoing President Bill Dakin highlighted the club’s past year, including the continuation of the Ladd Rotary Scholarship auction and annual golf tournament. Dakin also thanked Rotary members for their support and efforts.

Caron then told members that there are many opportunities for members to take a leadership role as a chairperson of a committee and that he is looking to grow the club through creative membership recruitment, stating “I am open to new ideas and look forward to serving you.”

Chester Rotary meets at 7 a.m. Thursday mornings except for the first Thursday of the month when it meets at 5:30 p.m. All meetings are at held at the Fullerton Inn.
