Join the Chester Conservation Commission and Hannah Dallas, town forester for southern Windsor and northern Windham counties, for a walk through the Chester Town Forest on Water Farm Road in Chester from 4 to 6 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 23.

Three areas of the Town Forest that are marked for harvesting this winter will be toured.

This forest has had a long history of forest management and the discussion will center on what is prescribed in these stands as well as the goals and future for the entire town forest.

The homeowner at the end of the road urges visitors to park at the upper end of Water Farm Road, on the left and in front of the barn and to please leave the road and driveways open for the residents.

Please be prepared to walk and stand outside for two hours. Register by emailing Dallas at Hannah.Dallas@vermont.gov.
