From chihuahuas to Great Danes, FidoFest celebrates the dog days of summer while raising awareness for adoptable American Shelter Dogs and funds for Second Chance Animal Center in Shaftsbury and Windham County Humane Society.

Stratton promises a full day of fun starting at 11 a.m. with a Splash Party, Trick ‘n’ Treats and a Doggie Ball Clinic with Cliff Drysdale Tennis and wrapping up with Yappy Hour at 5 p.m.

Highlights include a Doggie and Me Hike, Doggie Parade, Vermont State Police K-9 Unit Demonstration and the crowd-pleasing Talent Show on the Stratton Stage. Also available is the souvenir Stratton Pooch Pass, a commemorative photo pass for $10, with all proceeds benefitting the local shelters.

Fidofest Schedule

11 a.m. to 1 p.m.: Stratton Souvenir Pet Pass available at Guest Services (while supplies last)

11 a.m. to 2 p.m.: Splash Party with pools throughout the Village
Trick ‘n’ Treats with special dog cookies
Doggie Ball Clinic
Pooch Plinko with prizes and canine swag
Vermont State Police K-9 Units

Noon: Doggie Village Parade
The North Face Doggie and Me Hike to Mid-Mountain, sign up at Base Lodge at least 15 minutes prior to start of hike. Free gift and discount for participants.

12:30 p.m.: Talent Show

1 p.m.: Lick-a-Thon to determine fastest finish of a vanilla ice cream cone

5 p.m.: Yappy Hour with $1 of every Tito’s Vodka drink to be donated to Second Chance Animal Center and Windham County Humane Society
