Chester police log for Oct. 19 through Nov. 24, 2013

Saturday, Oct. 19, 11:24 a.m.

Two dogs came into Chester Town Hall on Elm Street and entered the Zumba Class on the second floor. The dogs were taken to the pound and as the police arrived, the owners had called looking for the dogs.

Sunday, Oct. 27, 2:08 p.m.

Police were sent to Flamstead Road to investigate a report that a vehicle had gone off the road and got stuck at the junction with Crow Hill Road. The complainant stated that the vehicle tried to make the corner too fast and got its front wheels stuck in the ditch. Another person driving a Chevy Suburban pulled the vehicle out, the complainant said. Police searched the area but could not find the vehicles in question.

Friday, Nov. 22, 5:12 a.m.

A single vehicle accident was caused by black ice along Route 10 and Mattson Road with damage to the vehicle estimated at $2,500.

 10:35 p.m.

At Route 103 and Sylvan Road police were dispatched after a truck collided with a deer and the deer lost. The deer was dead on the side of the road but the truck was nowhere to be found.

Saturday, Nov. 23, 11:56 a.m.

A suspicious vehicle was reported parked behind Green Mountain Union High School with people in it. Upon arrival, police contacted the two occupants who were in the back seat of the car. One occupant said she was just “hanging out”  before going to work in Springfield at 3 p.m. Police advised that they should find an alternative location to hang out.

Sunday, Nov. 24, 5:45 p.m.

Police responded to a report of a tree down on Trebo Road near North Springfield. The tree was on telephone wires and had snapped the pole into several pieces. VTEL was contacted and responded.
