Two-day artist workshops on plein air, photography and still lifes

The Southern Vermont Arts Center’s Fall Art Workshop Series wraps up with three two-day, all-level workshops in plein air oil painting,  High Dynamic Range digital photography and still life pastel painting. All workshops meet from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Oil painter Walt Pasko leads off on Saturday Oct. 4 and Sunday, Oct. 5 with  Plein Air Painting. Fee: $175 or $150 for members.

HDR Digital Photography workshop will be held on Saturday, Oct. 11 and Sunday, Oct. 12. Taught by Alan Nyiri, who studied with landscape photographers Ansel Adams, Philip Hyde and Eliot Porter, the course will include an overview of the use of the software and technology used to create HDR images. Fee: $250 or $200 members.

The series concludes on Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 15 and 16 with pastel master Robert Carsten’s Creating Exciting Still Life Paintings. Composition, image correlation, practical color theory and attention to achieving gorgeous textural surfaces are featured in this still life workshop. Fee: $225 or $200 for members
