Workshop on launching a business, writing a business plan

Vermont Small Business Development Center is offering Starting Your Own Business, a four-hour workshop on how to launch your own business and write a business plan. The course is from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 10 at the Springfield Regional Development Corp., 14 Clinton Square, Springfield, in the 1st floor conference room. Registration fee is $99 and comes with a workbook in hard copy and pdf format.

Taught by experienced business advisers, attendees will learn how to:
• Evaluate whether there is a viable business in your idea
• Identify your target customers and how to conduct market research
• Learn how to register your company, apply for tax numbers and protect your brand
• Prepare to write an effective business plan
• Find out about financing options and a credible loan packages
• Receive access to the online workshops to increase your knowledge in money, marketing and management
