SAPA-TV to hold open house, facilities tour

On Wednesday, Oct. 14, SAPA-TV, Springfield’s cable access TV station, will host an open house, followed by its annual meeting and an award show for community productions. The event will be held at the River Valley Technical Center Cafe, 303-307 South St. in Springfield, starting at 5 p.m. with hors d’oeuvres, socializing and a tour of the recently updated SAPA-TV studios. Food will be provided by the RVTC Culinary program.

SAPA TV logoAt 6 p.m., the 2015 SAPA-TV annual meeting will be held in the cafe. Community members will be updated on events from the 2014/2015 fiscal year, and there will be nominations for SAPA TV board members. Community members who would like to be a part of the station’s board should contact SAPA TV at 802-885-6248.

Immediately following the meeting, there will be the presentation of the first-ever SAPA TV People’s Choice Awards. Awards will be given out to local producers and volunteers for productions created in the 2014/2015 viewing season. This year, the station is asking community members for their input on what their favorite SAPA TV produced shows were. Community members can view and vote on this year’s categories and nominees at Voting is open until 9 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 12.

The functions are open to everyone. Voting for board members is limited to residents of SAPA TV’s service area, the towns of Springfield, Chester and Weathersfield. Residents of these towns do not have to be cable subscribers to vote.
