Claremont Opera House new repertory company announces winter-spring schedule

Sharon and Steve Wood return at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 6, as President Lincoln and Mrs. Hale. Our National Thanksgiving will portray the 16th president and the editor of the 19th-century magazine, Godey’s Lady’s Book, Sara Josepha Hale’s 30-year campaign to have Thanksgiving declared a national holiday. Her efforts were successful when Lincoln signed the Thanksgiving Proclamation in 1863.
Other performances scheduled include: on November’s Friday the 13th, funny man Bob Marley returns to the opera house. For more information on Marley visit bmarley.com.
Stardancer Studios returns the weekend of Dec.11, 12 and 13 with a modern twist on the traditional ballet The Nutcracker , called Clara’s Cracked Christmas.
Sunday, Dec. 20 Tubachristmas returns. Every season tuba and euphonium players of all ages gather in areas to honor William J. Bell, a late, great tubist. The public is invited to enjoy traditional Christmas music.
2016 rolls in with The Spirit of Johnny Cash, more comedy, and the Claremont Drama Festival. Closing the season will be a musical from Stevens High School, Jenkins Dance Recital, and Stardancer Studios’ annual recital.
