To the editor: Reed a tireless advocate for women, workers

Letters to the editor logoI’ve known Melody Reed for over 10 years and one of her traits that has struck me most is her unrelentingly optimistic “can-do” attitude. Never one to say “no” to working on a project for a worthy cause, she is a tireless advocate for women, families and issues affecting our community. This is only one reason why I wholeheartedly endorse Melody to be our next state representative.

Melody Reed is supremely well-suited for this job: she’s a leader, a problem-solver and has a wonderful collaborative way of working. She’s conscientious, energetic and deeply passionate about her community and Vermont.

Lately, Melody has traveled door-to-door just about every day, listening to people as they share their concerns about property taxes, health care costs, the economy and the environment. She is committed to working out practical solutions to the problems we face.

Melody was recently endorsed by the Vermont State Education Association, which represents over 5,000 workers in the state. She was also endorsed by the Vermont AFL-CIO, which represents over 10,000 Vermont workers. She cares about providing workers with a livable wage and creating more good jobs in our area — and she will work hard to make these things happen.

I can’t think of a better choice than Melody Reed — the workers’ choice — in the Democratic Primary on Aug. 9. She will work hard for every one of us.

Sincerely,

David A. Lord
Chester
