Truck crashes into Mill River, VSP cautions drivers on 103

The Vermont State Police are advising drivers to be cautious and expect delays this evening on Route 103 in Mount Holly as crews work to remove a tractor trailer from the Mill River.

According to a police press release, this afternoon at about 3:50 p.m. Sucha Singh Virk, 32, of Brampton, Ont., was driving a tractor-trailer north on Route 103 when he lost control of the truck, left the road and crashed into the river near North Bowlsville Road. The driver was taken to Rutland Regional Medical Center for possible injuries.

The Vermont State Hazmat team was sent to the scene to deal with vehicle fluids. The truck was not carrying hazardous materials.

The truck will be removed throughout the evening by Earle‘s Towing and police are advising drivers to use caution and expect delays.

Assistance on the scene was provided by the Department of Motor Vehicles,  Shrewsbury Fire Department, Regional Ambulance and Mount Holly Fire Department.
