To the editor: In support of Chase for VT Senate

We are writing to encourage folks in the Windsor County state Senate District to vote for Heather Chase in the upcoming Democratic Primary on Tuesday, Aug. 11.

There are many reasons to support Heather for this seat, including her longstanding commitment to our community where she has lived for over 25 years, raised her family, built a successful business, and volunteered. She has served in local and state-level elected and appointed positions, including as a former vice chair of the Chester Select Board, former state representative, and current member of the Vermont Economic Progress Council since her appointment by Gov. Phil Scott in 2021.

We also believe Heather is the right candidate for state Senate at this time in our state’s and our nation’s history because of her integrity and many personal attributes. She is thoughtful, honest, reliable, respectful, straightforward in her approach, passionate, and dedicated to accomplishing goals that help improve our communities. Heather works hard and strives to get it right in all that she does. She not only listens, she hears what others are saying—and she makes every effort to understand and communicate in a manner that respects similarities and differences while holding true to her own moral compass.

Heather is the only candidate in the Democratic primary from southern Windsor County. She understands firsthand the needs and concerns of our region, and she is committed to ensuring that they are considered along with the needs of the other communities in our sprawling state Senate District when critical decisions are made in Montpelier that impact us all.
