Londonderry Rescue hosts EMT training starting in October

Londonderry Volunteer Rescue Squad is hosting an Emergency Medical Technician class beginning on Monday, Oct. 12, and running through Monday, March 15, 2027. Classes will meet at the LVRS Squad building, 6068 Rt 100, Londonderry.

Emergency Medical Technicians are trained to respond to calls for medical treatment outside of the hospital setting. EMTs must quickly assess and document the patient’s condition and determine what treatment they may need. They are expected to provide medical treatment to the level of their training, prepare the patient for transport to a hospital and assist in that transport.

This course is a mix of self-directed learning and in-person training. There are online lectures and quizzes, and the class will meet in-person from 6 to 9 p.m. Mondays and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. one Saturday a month. This class costs $750 but tuition will be refunded if, after successfully completing the class and becoming state and nationally registered, the student becomes a full member of LVRS.
