Former Chester resident comes out with Stone House mystery

Former Chester resident Carol Ann Leofanti has released a new book, The Stone House Killer,  a psychological thriller, a work of fiction that takes place in a small town in Vermont featuring a man named Dale who became fascinated with the story about his distant relative, Phineas P. Gage.

Gage is an historical figure, a railroad blasting foreman who was working in Cavendish when, in 1848, a tamping iron was shot through his brain, altering not only his physical abilities but his personality as well. The story captures the main character’s imagination and over the years Dale’s fascination slowly deepens into something far more consuming.

From 2018 to 2023,  Leofanti and her partner, Mark Ouellette, owned and operated Stone House Bed & Breakfast and Kettle Corn Co. in Chester.

Leofanti currently lives in Wells, Maine, where she enjoys photography, painting and writing. Her  book is available on Amazon in paper for $18.99 and Kindle for $7.99.
