Londonderry Library to hold puppetry workshop honoring Pura Belpré

The South Londonderry Free Library is honoring librarian, storyteller and puppeteer Pura Belpré with a puppetry workshop at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17.

Learn about this champion of bilingual literature and make your own mini puppet theater with art teacher Casey Junker Bailey.

This art workshop is open to all ages and is free of charge, thanks to a grant from Vermont Humanities and the National Endowment for the Arts.

Each family will also receive a copy of the beautifully illustrated book Planting Stories to keep. So save your empty cereal boxes, and learn how to turn them into charming puppets and puppet theaters when you come to the library for some creative fun.
