To the editor: Murray a down-to-earth farmer who would help Windsor

I am writing to share my strong support for Andrea Murray for state Senate. I’m a North Springfield voter and, to be completely honest, it’s been a long time since I felt truly excited about an election. Like so many of my neighbors, I am just trying to make ends meet, but between the high costs of groceries, electricity and property taxes, it feels like we’re running on a treadmill that keeps speeding up.

It feels like our incumbent Senate politicians are living in a completely different world. They pass expensive bills and debate grand ideas, while rural towns like ours get left holding the bag. It is frustrating when you feel like nobody is actually listening to you . We aren’t asking for the world—we just need the state to stop making things harder. We need Vermont to be more affordable .

That’s why I’m voting for Andrea Murray for state Senate. Andrea is a local business owner who actually understands our day-to-day struggles and is standing up to fight for our communities. Andrea is a local farmer — she is real, she is down-to-earth, and she actually listens to what regular working people are going through. She understands that when you live in rural towns, every extra fee or tax hike hits our wallets hard.

One of the things I love most about her platform is her promise to fight to stop taxing Social Security benefits. For families like mine, cutting that tax means keeping money where it belongs —paying for groceries, medicine, and heat. That alone shows she understands the exact financial pressure our seniors and families are facing.

We need leaders who will look at every piece of legislation through a simple lens: Will this make it easier or harder for a vulnerable Vermonter to stay in their home? Andrea has the practical mindset and the empathy needed to keep our communities affordable, accessible, and supportive.

I ask every one of you in Windsor District that is tired of struggling every day to please get out and vote for Andrea Murray on Tuesday, Nov. 3. We need her to fight for us in Montpelier.
