To the editor: As state representative, Hoser committed to address affordability crisis

I am proud to support Will Hoser for state representative for the Windsor-Windham District. Hoser has spent much of his professional life providing for the health care of the people in this area through his work as Physician Assistant in Emergency Medicine.

He has personal knowledge of the struggles that folks are going through to afford the basics that make life livable. Particularly now, when we are at the whim of an erratic president who has increased costs and made health care and housing unaffordable, he has committed to working to address three major issues that affect affordability: health care, housing, and education.

Without federal support, the business of protecting Americans is falling to state legislatures. He is ready to join the Vermont Legislature in its efforts to protect all of us.

His opponent is identifying the Vermont Legislature and its laws and regulations as the cause of the affordability crisis.  Those regulations did not increase the cost of oil through an ill-considered war, institute tariffs that increase the cost of goods, nor eliminate Medicaid and Obamacare programs.

Nor did those laws and regulations eliminate student programs, housing subsidies, nor reduce consumer protections. The Vermont Legislature is moving on all of these issues by proposing legislation to address the gaps created by faulty national policies.

Hoser wants to join this effort.  During his legislative year, his opponent did not sponsor one piece of legislation in the Vermont Legislature that would respond to these major issues, nor address the affordability problems we are facing. We deserve better.
