To the editor: Brickner believes in protecting local schools

In 2023, I got to know Ben Brickner when we both volunteered on the grassroots campaign for the Mountain Views school bond. As a parent, teacher and community member, I saw firsthand the qualities Ben brings to public service.
Ben showed up and stayed actively involved throughout the campaign. He was dependable, organized, prepared and responsive. He quickly understood complicated issues and communicated them clearly. Ben did his research, listened carefully, and welcomed different perspectives. He supported the people working alongside him and stayed focused on practical solutions.
That experience gave me confidence in Ben’s approach to education. He understands the importance of investing in classrooms, protecting local schools, and giving towns a meaningful voice in decisions that affect their students. He also wants every student to have strong opportunities, whether they choose college, a skilled trade or another career path.
I appreciate that Ben also sees the connection between education and affordability. School construction debt, health care costs, housing, and town budgets all affect whether families can continue to live and thrive here. Ben is thoughtful, capable, and deeply invested in the people he hopes to represent. I am proud to support him for the Vermont Senate.
