Chester’s annual Plant Sale May 23-25

Lady’s mantle

The annual Chester Plant Sale will take place on the side lawn of St. Luke’s Church, 313 Main St. in Chester, on May 23 through 25. Hours are from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and from noon to 3 p.m. on Sunday.

The later timing of the annual event allows for larger and more attractive plants – all organized by type and growing needs. Generous pots of healthy, proven perennials, shrubs and select annuals and vegetables are well priced and ready to go into the ground. Helpful labels on each plant, as well as flower photos, make garden additions easy. Knowledgeable gardeners will be on hand to give advice on plants and garden design

Favorite offerings include varieties of iris, hostas, daylilies, perennial geraniums, lady’s mantle, raspberries, herbs, some shrubs and trees, and so much more, some in very limited quantities. Also on hand will be other garden-oriented items: dahlia tubers, gardener’s log notebooks and seasonal produce, such as cut rhubarb.
