Fiscal issues for Londonderry Town Meeting

The following fiscal issues will be considered by the legal voters of Londonderry at its Town Meeting, Tuesday March 3, beginning at 9:30 a.m.  at the old town hall at 139 Middletown Road.  Fiscal issues for Weston, Grafton, Andover and Chester were published in last week’s Telegraph.

Article 7 asks for approval for a funding scenario to purchase a new fire truck (pumper) for an estimated $465,000 with $66,000 coming from current taxes, $334,000 from a debt instrument for five years or less, and the remainder from the Champion Fire Company #5.

Article 8 asks for $40,000 to be divided between the Phoenix Fire Company and the Champion Fire Company.

Article 9 requests $1,000 for the Londonderry Conservation Fund

Article 10 would give $3,000 for the Memorial Park.

Article 11 is for a “sum of money” to be given to the Londonderry Volunteer Rescue Squad.

Article 12 would give $25,632 to the Mountain Valley Medical Center

Article 13 requests $10,000 for the South Londonderry Library Association.

Article 14 would put $100,000 into the Highway Equipment Reserve Fund

Articles 15 and 16 would “see how much the town will vote for a General Fund.” and if it will pay its taxes to the Town Treasurer on or before October 1, 2015.

Article 17 is the annual appropriation for medical, social, cultural and other organizations including The Visiting Nurse Association, SEVCA, GNAT-TV, Neighborhood Connections, Greenup Day and the Annual 4th of July Parade and Fireworks. This appropriation totals $32,770.

Article 18 would give $5,300 to Southeastern Vermont Economic Development Strategies.

Article 19 would give $2,000 to the West River Montessori School and $500 to the Windham County Humane Society.

Article 20 would fund the newly formed Beautification Committee with $3,000.
